Description: Kaoru stands on the observation deck of some skyscraper, looking out across the city. She's attempting to brood dramatically, as is her custom, when she is RUDELY INTERRUPTED by a pair of older guys who are looking for a little fun and think she's super cute.
She does not appreciate the intrusion on her time. She makes her displeasure known with a little casual mind control, forcing one of the guys to start choking his friend.
Kuga steps out from the shadows to interrupt before it can go too far. "Master. Please, allow us." Kaoru mentally rolls her eyes. Well. If he insists, she supposes. Silly boys, always wanting to do everything themselves...
She releases her control over the guy, who has only a moment to contemplate his unwilling actions before Kasei's blade slices neatly through his back. The other boy makes a desperate attempt to run away, but doesn't make it more than a step before Ama-Inu grabs his head.
And uh...we'll leave the details to your imagination. Long story short: crunch.
A little casual murder doesn't help Ama-Inu's mood much, unfortunately. "Master! Please allow me to kill them all! I need satisfaction! I need to kill that Darklore!"
"Shut up, Ama-Inu." God, he aggravates her sometimes. They all do. There's no real satisfaction in killing. It's simply necessary. "That's why I loathe psychics. All you think about is showing off. Right, Kuga?"
His only response is a quiet, tired: "...Master."
Whatever. They don't have time to keep messing around like this. "Kuga. The binding spell."
He obediently does as he's told, the spell sweeping across the city. Ordinary humans freeze in the middle of their daily routines, while those with power are left to wait restlessly, their abilities locked away.
The real game is about to begin.

-note: while fade/kaoru doesn't notice it at all, it might be PRETTY DARN OBVIOUS FROM AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE that Kuga is very, very weary and is just trying desperately to keep Kaoru from killing people directly. If THEY have to kill people on her orders it's acceptable, as long as he can stop her from dirtying her own hands.
